About the Indian Python
Closely related to the Burmese Python but lighter in build. The species that Kaa from The Jungle Book is based on. Protected throughout their range. Their habitat overlaps with the King Cobra in many areas. Have been recorded swimming in the open ocean between islands. Populations have declined due to habitat loss and skin hunting.
