About the Green Tree Python
A classic example of convergent evolution with the Emerald Tree Boa — they look nearly identical despite evolving independently on different continents. Juveniles are bright yellow or red, turning green at about one year. Rest draped over branches in a distinctive saddle pose. Have heat-sensing pits. Popular in the pet trade. Many locality-specific color morphs exist.
