About the Burmese Python
One of the largest snakes, commonly reaching 5 meters. Have become a devastating invasive species in the Florida Everglades, decimating small mammal populations by 90%+ in some areas. Can eat deer and alligators. Excellent swimmers. Females can lay 100+ eggs. Their population in Florida likely started from released or escaped pets. Hunters are paid to remove them.
