About the Carpet Python
A widespread and highly variable python found across much of Australia and New Guinea. Its several subspecies include the diamond python of the Sydney region and the jungle carpet python of northern Queensland. Often lives in the roofs of houses and sheds, where it helps control rats and possums. One of the most popular pythons in captivity. Females coil around their eggs to incubate them.
