About the Variable Bush Viper
A tree-dwelling viper of African rainforests whose color varies from green to olive, yellow, or rust. Strongly keeled scales give it a rough appearance. It rests coiled in bushes and low trees, gripping branches with its prehensile tail, and ambushes prey at night. Bites are uncommon because it lives in dense forest. Also known as the green bush viper or leaf viper.
