About the Nose-horned Viper
Named for the soft, scaly horn on the tip of its snout. Often considered the most dangerous snake in Europe because of its long fangs and potent venom. It favors sunny, rocky slopes with scattered vegetation. Despite its reputation it is fairly placid and bites only when handled or stepped on. It is often found among rock walls, scree, and stone piles.
