About the Kenyan Sand Boa

A stout, short-tailed boa that spends most of its time buried in sand. Its eyes sit high on its head so it can peer out while hidden. It ambushes small rodents and lizards by bursting from the sand and constricting them. Females are much larger than males. Its orange and brown pattern and docile nature make it a popular pet. It gives birth to live young.
