About the Eyelash Viper
A small arboreal pit viper named for the modified scales above its eyes that look like eyelashes. It comes in many colors, including a brilliant golden yellow form. It hangs from branches with its prehensile tail and ambushes prey, sometimes including hummingbirds visiting flowers. Named after the German zoologist Hermann Schlegel. Bites can cause serious local damage.
