About the Many-banded Krait
The species that most likely bit and killed the American herpetologist Joe Slowinski in 2001. Their alternating black and white bands make them one of the most recognizable snakes in Asia. Primarily nocturnal. Their neurotoxic venom causes progressive paralysis. Often found near water. Eggs are laid in clutches of 3-15. They are cannibalistic, eating other kraits.
