About the Brown Tree Snake
One of the most destructive invasive species ever recorded. Probably arriving on Guam in military cargo after World War II, it wiped out most of the native forest birds on the island. It also causes frequent power outages by climbing power lines. Rear-fanged and mildly venomous. Huge efforts, including air-dropped mice laced with acetaminophen, have been used to control it.
